Model United Nations

The Model United Nations (MUN) is an excellent way for children at YES to engage with the dynamics of international politics, and get an insight into the principles that govern diplomatic conflict resolution between countries around the world. Besides giving them an understanding of the realities and inner workings of current global and local issues, the simulation helps to enhance negotiation, communication, research and critical thinking skills tremendously among participating students. Students don the hats of actual ‘delegates’ of countries to discuss problems plaguing the nations of the world learning the elements of diplomacy and negotiation along the way.

Open Mic

Open Mic Night is an opportunity for young artists at YES to share their talents and perform in front of an audience. The acts range from the single, acoustic performers to full electric rock bands, and include dance, poetry, and the occasional comedy routine. Open Mic is the beginning of a necessary conversation regarding youth centrism in higher education. Utilizing art, spoken word and elocution as a vehicle, the participants drop serious knowledge about how to engage and provide platforms for student voice and collaboration on campus.

Group Discussions

Group Discussion is one of the highly successful methods in accomplishing the goals in learning. It has been observed that the group Discussion opens up the students to the topic in a better way than conventional classroom teaching. The traditional classroom teaching-learning gets limited to a certain point as it does not actively involve students in the learning processes. At YES, we often conduct GDs to hear different voices and opinions, and as an effective way for teachers to get feedback from students which can not be explained while attending class. The mistaken ideas inside the mind of students can be corrected during group discussions.
